My brother made an application for EU settlement under the EUSS before the 31 June 2021 deadline, he has not yet received an response from the Home Office and his employers are saying if he is unable to prove his status he cannot work. What do we do?

Question

Based on the information you have given me and the information from the government, it appears that your brother can work in the UK, while awaiting the decision from his settled status application. This is because he re-applied before the 31s June 2021 deadline and he is an EU national, which gives him the right to work and live in the UK. He’s employer should not be able to deny him work, because he has made an application for settled status and has confirmation of this. As such please present the employer with the confirmation of application. I have also included some links about the guidance the government gives to employers about this issue. As well, as tool to proving your status. Please note the links below are not exhaustive guidance on the issue.
